Poverty Simulation

to
Auxiliary Gym, Adler Athletic Complex

Penn State Altoona will host a poverty simulation event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in the Auxiliary Gym of the Adler Athletic Complex.

The poverty simulation is a campus-wide event involving students, faculty, and staff as participants or volunteers. Participants are placed in various roles, including social structures and families, and given different tasks to complete. The tasks require the participants to prioritize income and funds for food, transportation, childcare, housing, etc. Volunteers will run various organizations, such as the bank, school, police, etc. The event can include up to 80 participants and 25 volunteers.

Anyone interested in participating or serving as a volunteer can contact Kerrie Coleman at [email protected] for more information.
